Multitrack Editor & Session View
Overview
Once a Full Mix or track is generated in ST-1, the interface transitions from the initial prompt workspace into a Multitrack Session View. This view serves as an interactive timeline where you can inspect individual audio stems, adjust mix parameters (gain, pan, FX), perform tape operations, and interact with the AI assistant to refine or extend your track.
1. Top Header & Metadata Bar
The top header tracks essential music theory and session properties for the active project:
- Project Title: Shows the active track name.
- Session Metadata: Displays global parameters, including:
KEY: Root musical key (e.g.,C).SIG: Time signature (e.g.,4/4).LEN: Total length of the generated segment (e.g.,30s).MODEL: The AI audio engine used (e.g.,SA3).
- Session Utilities (Top Right):
FEEDBACK: Report issues or give feedback on generations.SHARE: Export or share a project link.+ NEW: Clear the current session and start a fresh project.
2. Left Sidebar (AI Assistant & Secondary Operations)
The left pane acts as your dynamic AI copilot and action hub:
- Session Log: Displays a breakdown of the musical arrangement, locked tempo (BPM), key, and bar layout.
- Action Buttons:
+ STEM: Generate additional layered instruments or vocal stems to fit the existing arrangement.-
When adding a new stem track, you can select one of three generation modes to guide how the AI builds the new layer:
DEVELOP: Continues or expands upon existing musical themes in the track. Use this mode to add complementary instruments or subtle accompaniment layers that match the established vibe.BLEND: Fuses elements of your prompt seamlessly into the existing mix. Ideal for adding supporting pads, background textures, or secondary rhythm layers that blend into the background.CONTRAST: Introduces opposing or striking musical elements that stand out from the main mix. Great for adding lead melodies, counter-melodies, aggressive solos, or distinct dynamic breaks.
-
INPAINT:Replaces a targeted time region on a single track lane using the SA3 audio engine without altering the rest of the mix (edits can be reverted via
UNDOon the Tape Ops bar):PROMPT: Text field to describe what sound, instrument, or rhythm should fill the selected region (e.g., "What should fill this region?").STRENGTH: Adjustment slider for the generation adherence balanceSUBTLEmaintains tight continuity with surrounding audio.STRONGstrictly prioritizes the new prompt.
REGION (SECONDS): Sets the precise start and end times (in seconds) to overwrite, automatically calculating bar duration at the current BPM
- (e.g.,
0to4seconds =1.42 bars @ 85 BPM). Includes an+ Advancedtoggle for additional model parameters. ADVANCED:
STEPS: Controls the number of diffusion sampling steps used during rendering (set todefaultby default). Increasing steps can yield higher audio clarity and detail at the cost of rendering speed, while lower steps offer faster previews.SEED: Sets the specific random numerical seed used by the generator (set torandomby default). Specifying a fixed seed allows you to reproduce deterministic generation variations or lock in a specific sonic texture.
- (e.g.,
-
EXTEND:Continues an existing audio lane past its current end boundary (edits can be reverted using
UNDOon the Tape Ops bar):LANE: Dropdown selector to choose which specific track lane to extend.EXTEND BY: Sets the length of the extension segment. Quick-select options include4s,8s,16s, or32s.PROMPT (OPTIONAL): Text field to describe how the track should transition or evolve (e.g., "Introduce a driving synth line and drop the drums"). Leaving this field blank instructs the AI to seamlessly follow and expand upon the existing musical material.
- Producer Chat ("Ask the producer anything"): A natural language input field where you can command the AI model to tweak the mix or edit structural elements.
- Credits Balance: Live display of remaining account credits.
3. Multitrack Timeline & Channel Strips
The central workspace displays up to 11 audio tracks (01–11), allowing you to inspect and modify isolated stems:
Track Channel Strip
M/S(Mute / Solo): Silence individual tracks or isolate specific stems.GAIN&PANKnobs: Adjust track volume (in dB) and spatial positioning (Left/Center/Right).ADD FX: Open track-level signal processing plugins. - Learn More Here (link placeholder for Track FX & Audio Processing (ADD FX) article)- Stem Parameters (
SEED/STEPS/PROMPT): View or tweak the underlying seed number, generation steps, or specific prompt used to generate that isolated track stem. [RESET]/[REGEN]: Reset prompt to the original prompt or regenerate that specific stem on the fly.- Empty Stems (
+ ADD STEM): Empty slots, ready for newly rendered layers.
4. Tape Operations Toolbar
Located right below the timeline, these tools offer classic tape machine style editing, learn more about what you can do here.
